About Donnacha Gallagher

I am a mechanical engineer with 20 years experience in equipment design in the fields of medical devices, renewable energy, pharmaceutical, food processing, and electronics. The type of work that I carry out includes design & development from early concepts through to final systems, project management, test & validation such as GAMP 5 documentation and training & support.My most recent experience is in the medical devices industry in the area of special purpose equipment design. This includes 12 years experience working in industrial automation to build complex and innovative machinery. I enjoy designing high precision tooling and moving mechanisms that require high attention to detail, to meet challenging requirements.I have a strong interest in education and professional development. I carried out MSc research projects in the areas of medical devices and renewable technologies. I studied Innovation and Business Development in IT Tallaght, and Management of Clean Technologies in DCU part time, which is divided into 50% management and 50% technology subjects. Specialties: mechanical design and development,design analysis (Matlab, Excel),CAD / CAM (Solid Works, AutoCAD),pneumatics, mechanical componentsmachine controls (sensors, motors, PLC), testing & test instrumentation,reporting & presentation,project management (MS Project, PMBOK)
