Donna Cline has devoted her career to defending human rights and the rule of law. Currently, Donna is working as an International Lawyer with Global Rights Compliance to ensure accountability for war crimes in Ukraine. Her criminal law experience includes serving as Defense Counsel for Ramzi Bin al Shibh in the 9/11 capital case before the US Military Commission in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; as an Assistant Public Defender with the Office of the Public Defender in Florida's 10th Judicial Circuit; on the Karadžić Standby Defense team at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia; and in the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court. Additionally, she been involved with several human rights advocacy campaigns, including election transparency and ending arbitrary detention of human rights defenders in Equatorial Guinea, anti-kleptocracy and anti-corruption initiatives, and expansion of the Global Magnitsky Act.Donna obtained her LL.M. in International Human Rights and Criminal Justice at Utrecht University (cum laude), where she wrote her thesis on the legal status of CIA officers involved in drone strikes. She also co-authored an advisory note on trials in absentia for the Supreme Court of Albania. Prior to attending Utrecht University, Donna earned her J.D. from Charleston School of Law, and both a B.A. and a B.S.B.A. from Western Carolina University. Donna is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, and the US Court of Appeals (District of Columbia Circuit). She has published articles on a variety of domestic and international criminal law, international human rights law, and international humanitarian law topics.In her spare time, Donna serves as a national volunteer with Alpha Xi Delta National Women's Fraternity.
