2-Year Leave: Volunteer Caregiver/Executor For Elderly Mother And Father
My father was 84 years old and approaching renal failure when Mom suffered a brain hemorrhage at the age of 77. They needed hands-on supervision, encouragement and nutritional support, but weren't ready to leave their home of 25 years. Per their request, I was their caregiver and Trustee, with all Powers of Attorney, responsible for their medical care, rehabilitation, reinforcement of all modes of therapy (including physical, speech and occupational), personal finances and overall well-being. Worked with the Arizona Veteran's Administration, an Estate Attorney, a Financial Planner for Elder Care, Area Agency on Aging (AAoA) and others in preparation for final affairs. Also responsible for locating community services offering geriatric support.My father died of kidney failure at age 88, in March, 2011. A dedicated caregiving team continued to provide 24 x 7, in-home care for my mother, enabling my siblings and I to cherish our time with her, until she passed away at home in 2014.

• Reviewed program needs and developed specific Y2K documentation requirements for MOS 12. • Working with 30 operators, completed 2.0 qualifications on 10 “first-of-a-kind” fully-automated wet hoods. Forged partnerships with engineering, equipment manufacturers and chemical suppliers to minimize chemical use and create optimal preventive maintenance for round-the clock production.• Led the first MOS 12 team to implement 12-hour compressed shifts.
