Directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of America's second oldest dinner theater, ensuring the various activities in the Food & Beverage and Administration & Sales Departments run smoothly and within the scope of applicable policies, law, and regulations. Consults and advises the Artistic Department and am point person on many special projects.

Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and analyzing risks inherent to the operations of the various maritime companies owned by HMT Holdings and for managing all claims, including assignment of attorneys. Formulate, implement, administer, and evaluate risk management strategies to efficiently and cost-effectively manage those risks. Am responsible for educating, advising, and counseling senior management and employees to reduce or transfer risks. Remain informed of the dynamic changes that occur within the maritime community and make the best risk mitigation method decisions based on the changes. Investigate incidents and accidents. Serve as company on-scene coordinator and qualified individual for major incidents. Ensure compliance with Coast Guard, OSHA, MSHA and other statutory regulations. Manage company benefits. Previously held the positions of Human Resources Director and Director of Safety and Training and continue to provide advice and leadership to those departments. Assist in developing employee training, new hire orientation, and content of company meetings.

As the writing instructor, was responsible for delivery of instruction support in the Learning Center. Assisted students in developing their written communication skills. Diagnosed and addressed student-writing deficiencies, and assisted students in developing their writing assignments. Instructed and supervised student tutors. As Sports Information Director, reported to the Athletic Director and documented and publicized the accomplishments of athletes and teams. Worked as a liason providing completed articles and produced radio reports to local media.

In 1996, also became the Human Resources Director and was responsible for talent acquisition, orientation, training, coaching, and disciplining vessel and terminal employees. Conducted vessel boarding to ensure compliance with applicable domestic laws and international treaties by checking structural and stability conditions, by verifying appropriate electrical, fire safety, lifesaving, mechanical and navigation systems, and by examining living conditions for crew members on foreign-flagged vessels. Conducted waterfront facility inspections to ensure compliance with federal regulations. Served as incident commander at oil and hazardous material spills and investigated marine casualties. Assisted in the inspection of new vessel construction. Honorably discharged.

Worked as a radio announcer for Armed Forces Radio and Television in Stuttgart, Germany and as a communications specialist at Headquarters, US European Command also in Stuttgart.
