About Don Pruitt

I love building stuff that works, for me that's body worn embedded systems. I have 15+ years experience in electrical and firmware engineering in a number of industries. Currently I am constructing GPS tracking devices for Scram Systems where we recently constructed a 3G/RF/GNSS based device on a very tight schedule. GNSS is my focus at the moment which is awesome because the field is now at the beginning of a period of incredible technical change that impacts our operation in impaired environments.I have been fortunate enought to work on projects that utilize wireless communications including WiFi,BTle, and various propritary 2.4GHz and 900MHz comm links. This allowed me to work with many aspects of the project including the design and implementation of everything from hardware layout, device firmware and the construction of protocols for variety of comm links such as FHSS and hopping networks.Just one of the things that I like most about being an engineer is that we are required to construct systems that are real world constrained and the art of engineering is about selecting the best compromise from a myriad of potential solutions. I guess the other is the focused detective work required to solve those difficult technical issues that we often face.
