RUPES USA, a wholly-owned subsidary of RUPES S.p.A. (based in Milan, Italy) purchased Cyclo Toolmakers in January 2015. While the ongoing engineering improvements of the Cyclo Polisher were being implemented, I oversaw the re-tooling of the manufacturing activities so that the RUPES BigFoot power tools could be manufactured in the USA. I was responsible for the manufacturing process design, shopfloor layout, design and acquisition of various tools and fixtures for assembly of the BigFoot and Cyclo products. Specific activities include:- Design of tools and fixtures using SolidWorks- Design of flexible manufacturing systems utilizing lean concepts- Creation of process workflow diagrams and manufacturing instructions- Organization of warehouse, inventory management, and material handling- Injection mold design and tooling acquisition for plastic components

Cyclo Toolmakers manufactures the Cyclo dual-headed random orbital polishing power tool. As Director of Engineering, I was responsible for various improvements to the tool itself as well as improvement of the manufacturing processes. Specific activitites include:- Gear design and optimization- CNC programming and speed/feed improvements which significantly increased tool life and part quality.- Design manufacturing tooling using SolidWorks- Developed operation-wide documentation system - Created process documentation and implemented process improvements- Injection mold and die cast tool design and optimization
