At CBA Bank, I have responsibility for sourcing and growing business. I am accountable for revenue and market share growth. I do this with Teams so one of my primary roles is to recruit the right Team, coach and motivate them so as to deliver the bank’s objectives. Together with the Team, we have achieve a lot in terms of introducing the CBA brand in Uganda and boarding quality customers. I am also a member of the Senior Management Team and thus I sit on several executive committees of the bank. The committees are a link between the bank and board with responsibility for strategy formulation, policy matters, people and financial performance of the bank. I continuously work with several stakeholders namely: Staff, Board, Regulators, Community Leaders, Business community, Academics, consultants, and others.

Uganda

At Bank of Africa Uganda, I held several roles in both Retail, SMEs and Corporate Banking. Owing to its structure as a Pan African Banking Group, it gave me extensive experience in working with cross cultural teams in both Anglophone and Francophone Africa. In Retail Banking, I was engaged in branch expansion, Products Development and Marketing and sales Team recruitment and motivation. I was leading a team of over 100 staff deployed in sales and service. The bank’s extensive Branch network (Over 30 Braches) across the country exposed me to all regions of Uganda. My engagement with the bank’s East Africa business growth initiatives exposed me to businesses and operations in Kenya, Tanzania and Burundi. In Corporate and SME, I was engaged in Corporate and Business Finance. We participated in several corporate syndication deals with other financiers in Uganda and the region. Bank of Africa gave me the foundation of working with Boards to deliver company objectives which has been instrumental in my later roles experiences.

Standard Chartered Bank offered me the best foundation which has since shaped my professional journey. I started at the bottom of the pyramid as an Accounts Services officer and I later took on several assignments and changes in roles and by the time I left the bank I was a Relationship Manager. It is at Stanchart that my passion for sales and customer service was identified and developed. I received the best training and got the best exposure both in country and abroad. Learning and sharing experiences with the best in class was always my best moment. Later my sales skills were enriched with Relationship management skills and experiences and this developed me into one of the best Relationship Managers in the bank at the time, taking part in several deals structuring and management.
