Managed global IP/R&D teams to achieve 300% patent filing growth. • Visited over 75 company R&D and manufacturing sites worldwide. Active in planning expanded product R&D and related IP protection strategies in China, as well as other key Asian, European and other growth markets. • Chairman of the Board of the Covidien AG (global strategic operating company based in Switzerland). Cir. 2000), cert. denied, 531 U.S. 1143 (2001).• Led the technical negotiation team to achieve the most lucrative Xerox patent license.• Successfully renegotiated the $50M+ Xerox Olympic sponsorship agreements.Lead Patent Counsel, Xerox Color Printer & Software Division:• Directed the inside and outside attorney team in executing the IP asset protection plan for the most profitable Xerox office and desktop color devices.• Authored strategic patent applications, including a color calibration software/ systems patent asserted against a key competitor.
