A passionate change maker, developing and disrupting the esports industry. Dennis Ooi was a professional gamer who competed in numerous local and international tournaments representing Singapore. He won 4 World Cyber Games National Finals Gold medals in Singapore from 2005 to 2008 and has numerous podium finishes in other regional tournaments. Dennis has several speaking and training engagements at schools, the national library and conducting training workshops for teachers and parents in the area of cyber wellness.Besides gaming, he founded an I.T company in 2008 and ran it successfully for 4 years before being acquired by private investors. He has since transitioned to join the Singapore Cybersports & Online Gaming Association (SCOGA) full-time with the goal to develop and grow the local ecosystem.As a founding member and now President of SCOGA, Dennis is responsible for the day-to-day operations and development of the organisation’s initiatives which range from the Esports Academy, which is supported by the National Youth Council, industry partnerships and working with social service agencies to help youth at risk in the area of esports and cyber wellness.
