I enjoy helping companies stay out of court - and focused on their business. Clients call me at the early stages of an employment dispute, and we work together towards a resolution that is both legally sound and consistent with the client's business reality. I assist employers with hiring; training; position descriptions; compensation structures and decisions; employee classification; policy creation and implementation; employment contracts; promotions; management of leaves under the ADA, FMLA, and workers’ compensation; employee discipline; dispute resolution; terminations; severance agreements; and many other subjects. While I prefer that my clients stay out of court, I have significant experience representing clients before administrative agencies, district courts (federal and state), and appellate courts (federal and state). In doing so, my litigation focus is on dismissing a plaintiff’s case as early and efficiently as possible. I can proudly say that many of my clients have become dear friends. I know the names of their spouses and their pets; I know where their children go to school and whether they enjoy it. I strive to develop close relationships with clients because that helps me understand them better and makes me feel like a part of a team. That, in turn, helps us all develop better solutions to client challenges.
