I am often asked what I love more – Creative or Strategy. And my answer has always been the same – Creative is Strategy. They are not two seperate things for me. They can’t be. Because any ad that’s not solving for something is simply noise. The solve is the strategy. The creative, simply how we arrive at it.At Irregulars, I get to exercise my love for the creative in tandem with nerding out on my passion for strategy. My dual role allows me to be the Brand Strategist for the design and branding projects, discovering the whats, the hows, and the whys of each brand, and in doing so, identifying their archetype, tonality, and personality.And as the Creative Director, I get to translate that strategy into fun, innovative, and impactful campaigns that don’t just answer the brand’s brief, but surpass it as well. By the time I joined Green Chutney Films, I had explored working at advertising agencies, design houses, being a freelancer, and being self-employed during which I developed the screenplays for my web series and feature films, whilst honing my filmmaking skills in parallel. Green Chutney Films was where all of these came full circle. I joined Chutney as their Creative Lead and Writer/Director, and checked off a long-standing box in my wish list – Directing my first film before the age of 30.This stint saw me once again mine my personal experiences to derive insights and inspirations for the various campaigns I wrote, directed, and executed over the course of the year.My gender euphoria having transitioned, saw its expression in my campaign for Brillare. The campaign line – Those Who Live Their Truth Glow Differently – is the most personal line I have written as a copywriter. Scorsese says, The Most Personal Is The Most Universal. And I couldn’t agree more having experienced first-hand the outstanding reception this campaign received. We even got featured in Impact Magazine’s article – The Final Cut.My Abby award-winning film for Dabur was born from my experiences in my hometown in Andhra Pradesh, watching kids play while clapping their hands to the rhythm of a local song – Chemma Chekka.My directorial – Berger Paints Ganesh Chathurthi film - questioned the opulence that a home-grown festival has come to represent, and my campaign for mCaffeine allowed couples to let loose in the irresistible aroma of chocolate-flavoured body lotions.

In March 2022, I joined Fish Do It full time to develop SpotWriters – India’s first platform for Screenwriters. Developed in collaboration with Kyoorius Studios, this platform helped both existing and aspiring screenwriters to reach out to and submit their scripts to independent producers and production houses directly.It was during this time that we also completely revamped Godrej Interio’s catalogue system, right down to its visual design, flow, and hierarchy of information, with me assisting the team in all copy and content needs for the same.In addition to the above, I worked on Care Concierge, an expert senior-care enterprise based in Malaysia. Our task was to refresh their brand identity, organise the brand architecture and document brand guidelines, as well as strategise and produce ongoing brand communication material.All said and done, Fish Do It has been my longest association thus far, and one of the most fruitful ones. I got to experience the joy of working in a design-first environment on a host of brands such as Asian Paints, Godrej Interio, Andromeda, Aditya Birla Grasim, Pidilite, and Care Concierge.

I freelanced with Fish Do It while on a break from advertising in order to write and develop the screenplays for my film and web series.In my two years freelancing with them, I worked on brands such as Asian Paints, Godrej Interio, ApnaPaisa, SEEDS, and PixelVision.

I entered Ogilvy adept at the art of Thinking Big. It’s here that I learnt the art of The Big Think. i.e. When it’s the thought that’s big, and not just the scale of its execution. What is more, Ogilvy taught me how to identify an insight and take its creative expression to its farthest reaches.With Dixcy Scott, I found a way to channel my love for Robin Williams’ Genie, but albeit with a desi twist. With Amazon Saheli, I got to revisit my mom’s conversations with me around the dinner table growing up. And in doing so, mine its heart to discover the soul of a beautiful Women’s Day campaign. And with Bingo, I still don’t know how, I found a way to sneak in my twisted dark humour into a campaign for potato chips.And along the way, I immersed myself in various other brands such as MTR, ITC Glucovita Bolts, and Titan Eye Plus.

Though this has been my shortest stint to date, Wunderman Thompson allowed me to flex my love for the game of badminton. I got to execute the campaign for the India leg of HSBC’s BWF World Tour, a Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation.I also got to nerd out on data and figure out how to seamlessly integrate platform insights into Colgate-Palmolive’s creative e-commerce communications. This was the brand’s first foray into the Indian e-commerce market space, and I am glad to have kick-started and crystalised the approach that they continue to follow to this day. Who said “Healthy Smiles” was only reserved for the customers, right?

Proud Baby Mama of the Havmor Cool Gaiz campaign. Would you believe me if I told you that the inspiration behind the Cool Gaiz were two stoner bros having a case of the munchies? And munch they did. On lots of ice cream, Havmor Ice Cream.Started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 11. Was asked to discontinue because apparently, “Boys who learn Bharatanatyam grow up to be…”. Well, I grew up to be that, but minus the grace of a classically-trained Bharatanatyam dancer. So, I experienced my Arangetram ceremony vicariously through a Cinthol Original campaign.Was the designated team floater. The perks of not being assigned a brand is that you get to work on all of them. Guilty as charged, I ended up dipping my fingers in Café Coffee Day, Havmor Ice Cream, Godrej Protekt, Godrej Cinthol, United Colours of Benetton, Pizza Hut, Secret Temptations, Indeed, and Mercedes Benz during my stint at CLA.
