Nursing has been my vocation for as long as I can remember. Right from day 1 upon graduating from Northeastern University with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I have spent the last 20 plus years providing critical medical services and healthcare education to patients. My roles have ranged from being the staff nurse in a challenging correctional environment with the Sheriffs department in Boston to my current role as the Clinical Director for Care Management with the Boston Medical Health Systems NH Medicaid MCO. 15 years of my experience has been as a clinical educator in home care settings, which has provided the trial by fire that has made me into a strong health education leader, and strategic planner for the director role.Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to showcase a number of skills and strengths that have served me well. I fully understand the intricacies of business operations from staff scheduling to managing diverse personalities to working within budget constraints. I have high-level teaching skills with an innate ability to distill complex topics into concepts that are easy to comprehend for all levels of learners. My presentational and communications skills are further enhanced by my ability to put together strong PowerPoint presentations that add a critical visual element to any teaching opportunity. My ability to serve as a liaison between management and staff has always been a strength as I am able to be a voice for both sides to ease tensions and promote a healthy work environment. The longer I have been involved in clinical education and clinical leadership, the more I have come to love teaching. I am currently finishing my Master of Science in Nursing to become an even better educator and leader. I am excited for the potential the future holds. I still have a passion for nursing, but the transition into executive leadership is the direction I am interested in at this point in my career wherever it leads me.
