One of my primary duties it designing, testing, implementing, and administrating new datacenter technologies in our global (NA/South Africa/Europe/India) architecture. Installed and configured a NetEqualizer filtering device to prevent unauthorized user from accessing the corporate network and the internet.

Supervision of Help Desk including communication of critical issues to Directors. Assisted members of the team with issues outside their immediate knowledge. Created backup drives for stores using Norton Ghost and coordinated shipping via FedEx to various store sites. Redesigned existing network to allow for integration of barcode system using SQL server. Worked with salespeople on said system to provide most cost effective yet workable system possible. Responsibilities ranged from basic PC repair and maintenance to installing fiber optic cabling. Was required to purchase any new/replacement/spare equipment for contracts and those costs were either turned over to the project or reimbursed against the total cost of the project. Equipment had to fall within budgetary limits while still providing quality needed to ensure clients were satisfied.

In charge of purchasing replacement servers to replace outdated equipment. Was responsible for dealing with backbone vendors (SPRINT, etc) when purchasing T1's, PRI-lines, and VPN solutions. Was trusted with ordering trenching services to run fiber as well as construction equipment to install cables (drills, bits, heaters, etc) in the buildings as they were being built. Develop documentation for users to install and setup their dialup internet connections. Responsible for migration from NT 4.0 to Windows 2000. Installed, maintained, and backed up SQL database for accounting and authentication software as well as Emerald front-end user management software. Maintained six PRI lines as well as two full-frame T1 lines. Managed and upgraded 3COM rack-mount modem for dialup customers. Supervision and installation of CAT6 cable for high-speed Gigabit internet access and CAT5 used in the multi-line phone system for 1024-unit apartment complex. Installed SEICOR fiber optics lines between each of the sixteen buildings involved in the project. Responsible for designing wireless internet access for greater Johnson City area. Cisco router configuration and implementation (models 3662 and 2612). DHCP configuration for residents of apartment complex as well as NAT configuration on both routers and servers.
