I've been a licensed attorney since shortly after my graduation from Loyola University of Chicago Law School in 2000. I received my bar license in Oklahoma later that year. I did pro bono work with Oklahoma Legal Aid and received the pro bono attorney of the year from the State Bar in 2001. Since then I have practiced in Texas while maintaining my Oklahoma license as well. Currently, I work with clients only by referral. Most of my work is in the area of estate planning.Before I started practicing law full time in Texas, I was a radio consultant with partner Ted Stecker, working as Stecker-Thompson Associates. We consulted mostly Country stations around the country, assisting client stations with improving their on-air sound and marketing strategies. Currently, I am an active volunteer with the Mansfield, Texas, Police Department, primarily working in the Senior Citizens department to making sure they are able to maintain a safe environment on their own, and assisting them with any problems they might have, e.g., hiring an electrician who won't take advantage of them because of their age.I also volunteer with Purrfect Cats, taking in and fostering cats and kittens who will be put up for adoption after taking care of any health needs, e.g., sterilization, as well as socialization. I am also the secretary of my Home Owners Association and of the Citizens Police Academy which trains people to volunteer with the Mansfield Police Department.I am active in my church, St. John Lutheran Church in Mansfield. I am a member of the prayer ministry, an usher and a reader at services. I also participate in the Tuesday morning women's Bible Study class.

My husband, Ted Stecker, and I consulted mostly country stations for many years, until his death in 2004. Previously I worked as a radio personality in several markets. While we were living in Chicago I started law school at Loyola University, continued when we moved to Oklahoma City where I finished my degree from Loyola University of Chicago. I worked for Legal Aid of Western Oklahoma in Oklahoma City for a year. Then we moved to Dallas, where I worked with Ted in Country radio, specifically KSCS/WBAP, Dallas-Fort Worth until he died in 2004. Since then, I've worked as an attorney. I volunteer with a cat rescue organization, Purrfect Cats, and the Mansfield Citizens Police Alumni Association, and with the Mansfield Police Department in the Senior Citizens program, and assist the police department in various ways.
