About Dorn Moore

With over 11 years of experience as the Geospatial & Information Services Manager at the International Crane Foundation (ICF), I am passionate about using geospatial tools and data to solve environmental conservation challenges. I have a Master of Science degree in Cartography and Geographic Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I am proficient in various GIS software, such as ArcGIS Pro and Mapbox, as well as programming languages, such as R and Python.At ICF, I manage geospatial databases and servers, work with researchers to query and analyze data, create custom scripts to gather and parse data, and collaborate with our communications team to develop engaging StoryMaps and web applications. I also oversee the development and maintenance of field survey databases to track habitat use by flocks and banded individual cranes in North America, Asia, and Africa. My mission is to make technology simple and seamless to help ensure a sustainable future for people and cranes around the world.
