Doug is a visionary leader and investor in complex infill projects, with over 20 years of experience in urban redevelopment and real estate private equity. He co-founded Trailbreak Partners, a Denver-based firm that generates lasting value for investors and stakeholders by applying its expertise in real estate acquisition and development, while focusing on financial and societal outcomes.As the company's Visionary, Doug guides the long-term vision, values, culture, product, and brand strategy of Trailbreak Partners. He manages investor relations and major relationships and leads the firm's real estate acquisition and development strategy. He has successfully entitled, capitalized, and executed more than $600 million in value-add projects across various asset classes, including multifamily, residential for-sale, hospitality, mixed-use, and industrial. He is also skilled in public finance, having worked with various sources of funding, such as tax increment financing, LIHTC, metropolitan districts, HUD loans, and federal and local grants. Doug holds an MBA from the University of Colorado Boulder, Leeds School of Business, and a B.S. in Environmental Health Science from the University of Georgia. He is passionate about creating a positive community impact and removing blight, and he serves on several non-profit boards. He enjoys spending time with his family and exploring the Colorado high country on his bikes or skis.
