I led the growth of Altek Medical Business from developing and launching its initial product to establishing a multiple customer/multiple product portfolio with hundreds of employees in Taiwan and China. Our customers included major medical device companies located in Europe, US, and Japan. For more than three consecutive years, we were nominated as at the top supplier for a major German-based medical device company. During the start-up phase, we established and improved our Medical Quality System and Documentation to pass FDA requirements. Some of the products in our portfolio included: diabetes management (glucose meters, insulin pumps, software, apps, etc.), endoscopes, portable ophthalmology devices, and electronics for digital x-ray systems.As a Corporate Vice President, I advised the Altek CEO and Executive staff on organization structures, latest innovation programs, and international program management. Altek Group transformed from a primarily consumer-focused, digital camera business to a multiple-faceted group focusing on consumer, industrial, and medical device areas.

I managed the SMB Office Printer Research and Development Labs of more than 100 managers and engineers in Singapore and Shanghai. The product portfolio supported billions in revenue and hundreds of millions in units of annual business. At the same time, I was also a member of the executive management team creating business strategies and managing the product portfolio.Prior to this, I managed the Digital Camera Research and Development Labs of more than 100 managers and engineers in Colorado, Singapore, Taipei, and Shanghai developing a product portfolio of hundreds of millions in revenue. I established new R&D labs in Singapore, Taipei, and Shanghai (growing from 0 to 50+ members) while transitioning US members to new, higher value areas.As one of the core HP Camera Executive team, we led the "Business Turn-around Initiative”. Within two years, the camera organization improved quality by more than five times and shortened development time to less than half. This transformed the business from unprofitable to profitable while more than doubling revenues.

Led ODM R&D partner consolidation and quality implementation to deliver “Top Rated” digital cameras. Led the creation of 3-year scanner product portfolio and resource plan to achieve a 2X revenue growth. Demonstrated a new, highly innovative scanning product to HP CEO at the annual HP Executive Review.

Established and grew R&D Lab with the management team of engineers. Led R&D team to create high-performance electronics/ASIC platform and photo imaging algorithms. Recruited worldwide talent to fill critical ASIC design, electronics, firmware engineering, and color scientist positions.

One of three engineers to make breakthrough to invent HP’s first inkjet color Photo Printing Solution.Presented the Photo Printing Solution to HP Printer and Imaging Group Manager (a direct report to the HP CEO). Designed 12 ASICs for inkjet and impact printers, all were “First Time Shippable”.
