• Complete data center redesign including design and implementation of 4500-x switches in VSS mode, Nexus 5548 switches with vPC, installing new EMC VNX 5300 with 60 TB of disk space(FC connectivity), and implementing 6248 Fabric Interconnect (2.1 code) with Cisco UCS blade center with 16 VMware hosts. • Relocated our entire datacenter in a mere 26 hours, with several months of planning and coordination. • During an acquisition of Milan Express we turned up 22 remote locations. This included deploying 16 Cisco 2811 routers, 6 ASA 5505s, 26 Cisco 2960 switches, over 100 thin clients, and dozens of HP printers and digital senders in only 32 days. • Upgraded and completely redesigned our Citrix environment from Presentation 4.0 to XenApp 6.5 in 120 days including rolling out over 900 new thin clients. • Consolidated various antiquated phone systems company-wide, 83 locations, into Cisco based Unified IP Phone system, saving the Vitran Express 1.4 million dollars annually. Part of this project included converted MPLS WAN from EIGRP routing protocol to iBGP to support new Cisco base IP telephony and writing CoS and QoS configurations to ensure voice quality.• Upgraded Cisco 7206 routers engines from NPE-100 to G2.• Instrumental in implementing a new tablet based solution using Verizon Wireless private network terminating it securely to Cisco 2911 VPN router for Samsung Tablets, allowing Vitran to better track freight and drivers using home grown Android based application. It is currently deployed to 2200 drivers company-wide. This is expected to save Vitran Express 11 million dollars in revenue in the next 12 months.
