Responsible for the day to day management of the Reinsurance claims department and the underwriter technician (UT) staff. This includes ensuring the claim staff are handling and settling claims in accordance with the reinsurance contracts and following best practices in regards to claim file documentation. In addition the team provides management with pertinent information that impacts future business decisions.Work with senior management on a Business Process Improvement plan to help drive operational efficiencies and improve management reporting. The basis of the plan is automating various data sources into a Data Warehouse that will be utilized to as a single source to develop a management dashboard. Responsible for the oversight of the UT's who assist the underwriters in documenting, in the electronic filing system, the reinsurance contracts and other applicable correspondence.
