Chosen by management to lead a project for Dr. James Truchard, founder and CEO of National Instruments; led a team of 5 engineers to build an automatic wine decanter to pour glasses of wine from an 18-liter wine bottle: 1. Designed, built, and programmed the decanter with the final design using a steel base, NI roboRIO controller, and LabVIEW software. 2. Built a cherry wood cabinet to cover the hardware. 3. Accompanied the project to the destination to ensure success; the project successfully poured 100+ glasses of wine without issue. Wrote a project proposal for the LabVIEW ADE Independence to include the Example Finder: 1. Discovered driver groups appearing in places customers may not have seen. 2. Ensured the inclusion of examples from external installers and placed the examples appropriately. Developed parts of VeriStand custom devices for XNET, Ballard ARINC 429, Ballard 1553, and template cloning tools. Collaborated with TestStand group to implement LabVIEW portion for source-only VIs. Owned the FRC (FIRST® Robotics Competition) Project that included: 1. LabVIEW code, palettes, examples, installers, and simulation. 2. Test stations for roboRIO hardware integration testing. 3. Demo robots for presentations. 4. Teaching presentations.

Offered and accepted a promotion in 1997 from Jeff Kodosky for excellence and service in the previous role. Designed and developed the NI Example Finder for all LabVIEW installed examples, examples installed by other NI products, and examples installed by 3rd parties; eliminated the hassle of viewing multiple locations for examples and made the new application easy to navigate and understand: 1. Partnered with Marketing, Hardware, and Toolkit groups for Example Finder integration to anticipate issues, resolve discrepancies, and ensure smooth implementation. 2. Researched issues for LabVIEW customers to develop new tools to integrate examples. Collaborated with HR to design and build “suitcase” demos used for recruiting. Took on the challenge of building and presenting NIWeek stage demos that integrated the latest LabVIEW software and NI hardware releases: 1. Spent 3 years collaborating with the marketing department to design, build, and present real-world, interactive stage demos. 2. Created an inverted pendulum that promoted LabVIEW for real-time control. 3. Produced an automotive dynamometer showing data acquisition and control. 4. Designed an air engine that promoted LabVIEW RT and FPGA by running an internal combustion engine that used compressed air instead of gasoline.

Collaborated with Sales and Marketing teams to build demos for the annual sales conference; demos included helicopter-on-a-stick, tank fluid control, and car bumper strain impact. Provided customer support for LabVIEW and data acquisition products, answering questions and determining solutions to issues to ensure satisfaction.
