My StoryTen years into my career at Shape Corp. we faced a challenge many automotive suppliers faced during these years. Our customers demanded manufacturing/engineering services in locations around the world. Many suppliers, including several in west Michigan, had sold to one of the big tier .5's like J.C.I. or Magna Corp. "Made sense to sell" we thought. The big tier .5's already had a global footprint, management depth, deep pockets, and international experience. After some discussion we said, "what the heck, let's do it ourselves". That was fall of 2006. In 2008 I hired our first Chinese leadership team for our new facility in Kunshan. For the next ten years we grew the company into a multi-national leader in our product space with facilities and teams in 16 locations across North America, Europe, and Asia. My primary role was to lead the global Human Resources organization in the strategic areas of talent acquisition, talent development, and talent retention. I also lead the transfer of our culture to our foreign entities and teams while embracing the cultures and diversity of our growing Shape family. What a ride, what an education! I retired at the end of 2018 and now am coaching other ethically driven leaders facing today's challenges who want to write their own stories of success and service.

Shape health care costs consistently 10%-20% lower than national and west Michigan averages. Lead change management strategies during all times of significant change during 24 year career. With H.R. global team developed key policies and practices to assure safe and healthy workplace, fairness, and trust.
