I'm running to support local community residents and their concerns. In this era of chaos driven by radical legislation and leadership in Texas, the majority of Texans prefer thoughtful, moderate representation working hard for interests of regular people, not billionaires and extremists.

Serve as Advisor and previously long-term vice-chair of the Exploration Green Conservancy to create a 200 acre recreation, conservation and flood detention area at site of former Clear Lake golf course. Provide leadership and coordination to create conservancy, gain 501(c)(3) status, develop conservation easement and guide overall communications, media relations communications, community outreach and relationships with stakeholders and elected officials. Led powerful communications function including outstanding news media campaign after Hurricane Harvey as a success story with lessons for Harvey recovery across Houston region. Led extremely successful fundraising campaign winning grants of over $1 million for Exploration Green park amenities and nature plantings.Provide political communications advice to conservancy and Clear Lake Water Authority to develop and maintain active public support. Organized grassroots and media activities for project-endorsing candidates for CLCWA board in recent elections, which they won ~75% to 25%.

Serve as Precinct 2 Liaison for Bay Area Houston. Coordinate projects in Community Relations for Clear Lake area of Texas, communications and policy, especially flood mitigation, to maximize Harris County Precinct 2 positive impact and service for more than one million residents.

Helped build Texas state-wide volunteer network, while representing Biden in the Houston region and SE Texas. Focused on grasstops and grassroots organizing via virtual events with Texas SDEC members, county chairs, clubs and organization leaders. Establishing base in Houston region with influential Facebook “Houston for Joe Biden” reaching 30+ Democratic clubs and organizing outstanding “Soul of the Nation” and surrogate virtual events. In Houston for primary, built support through extensive social media contacts with dozens of Democratic groups/individuals, connected local leaders to organizers and advised and performed extensive voter contact at largest polls. Earlier in January, traveled to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to canvass likely caucus voters and support events, interviews and successfully campaigned for Joe Biden at caucus.

As professional staff member led development of HRC campaign and operations in Iowa’s Muscatine County and city, working closely with eastern Iowa Democratic and HRC leadership. Established integrated leadership organization building strong relationships with Democratic and progressive leaders to accomplish HRC campaign strategies and actions. Led recruitment, organization, training, guidance of volunteer leadership and corps. More specifically, • Organized and led voter canvassing and phone banks and special voter contact initiatives such as satellite early voting and events, e.g. special Latino canvass opportunity for NEA president.• Independently led voter contact programs identifying target voters through extensive NGP VAN analyses for phone calls, email, text and neighborhood canvassing. • Organized major GOTV weekends and Election Day ensuring appropriate training, scripts, early voting, voter registration and ballot handling procedures. Work closely with management to provide insight and advice concerning overall strategic communications including NASA stakeholders, relevant messaging, communication strategy and tools, and tactics to reach JSC and External Relations goals. Led Astronaut Corps external communications including fast-paced, complex media relations and astronaut appearances functions. As “agent” for over 120 astronauts: propose, select, create, coordinate and execute communications projects involving all levels of news media and public appearances. Sample Accomplishments:• Managed astronaut media appearances with high profile TV programs and documentaries, e.g., “60 Minutes,” “The Today Show,” etc., providing strategy, interview coordination and messaging.• In Columbia Shuttle accident crisis, handled media relations concerning sensitive crew issues with national media in critical first days of crisis. • Defined, coordinated major media and appearances campaign for Shuttle “Return to Flight” mission after Columbia accident including management of all national media for crew. Orchestrated live, overlapping interviews for 20+ astronauts and family members at Kennedy Space Center launch.Developed an Astronaut Appearances Management system to evaluate thousands of astronaut appear requests using strategic value criteria to ensure astronaut time away from technical training is reduced only for high quality, high visibility events.
