Global Training Manager
My responsibilities include developing a leadership training program from the ground up for a fast-growing company in the mortgage industry. I work with the quality and training group as well as an HR business partner. I develop relationships with executives and open up business line opportunities, analyzing skill requirements for various positions, identifying performance gaps, and developing solutions (including curriculum design and development) to close those gaps and increase leadership effectiveness. As part of the global training team, I also provided delivery of onboarding material. Training delivery methods included classroom seminars, individual coaching, and leadership multiplication initiatives. Together with business leaders we developed measurement tools and tracked results of our goals through surveys, self-analysis, performance evaluations, and cultural alignment. Some of the results from class participants include: *Each student on average recovered an estimated 30 minutes per day through prioritization and time-saving techniques. *There was a 300% increase in appropriate documentation. *Engagement improved as evidenced by an 85% increase in suggestions for improvement by direct reports, while the value-perception of those suggestions increased from 39% to 71% by their managers. *The perception of a positive relationship with one’s peers increased to 100%. *The perception that one’s leader demonstrates company values increased from 72% to 86%. *Leaders solved problems at the simplest level possible as evidenced by a significant drop in Performance Improvement Plans as well as the fact that no new lawsuits were initiated during the first phase of training.
Contract Trainer
I provided tailored seminars across the USA and the Caribbean on topics of leadership, management, leveraging change, performance improvement, team-building, communication, strategic thinking, diversity training, marketing, and executive coaching. My responsibilities in addition to content delivery included presentation design and development, administration, and the sale of products/services, Class participants included multiple levels of leadership/management from large and small companies, government, education, and not-for-profitentities.
Senior Pastor
I led an 800-member congregation to achieve its mission. We expanded our facilities, paid off a $1.3 million debt, and met the difficult challenge of culture change in a “volunteer” organization. I worked with a team of paid staff, countless volunteers, and networked throughout the region with other pastors and community leaders to address common goals. Multiple congregations with people from five different continents shared the same facilities. I served as the president of Tarrant Baptist Association’s Executive Board as well as on other boards and entities on a regional and state level. I helped develop and lead a two-year leadership training program for pastors and church leaders across Tarrant County called “Leader’s Edge.” The training consisted of four week-long retreats, peer groups, outside reading assignment, and experiential learning activities. I engaged in weekly coaching with members of my team, congregation, and those in the community. I also served as a voluntary chaplain for the Bedford Police Department.
Senior Pastor
I led a rural congregation through community transition. We served our community and helped our school district ovoid consolidation while expanding our facilities, and paying off the debt. We were recognized as a “pace-setter” church in Texas. I served as the president of the Johnson County Baptist Association’s Executive Board.
