I have over 35 years of experience as an aquatic ecologist and as a marine and freshwater macroinvertebrate taxonomist. I have published numerous scientific papers and technical reports. I have worked for a university, two different consulting companies, and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, where I worked for over 15 years and where I was involved in development of the current macroinvertebrate and habitat bioassessment methods. My career theme has been relating aquatic community composition (including fish and plant communities in addition to macroinvertebrate assemblages) to abiotic, sediment, water quality, and physico-chemical factors in order to elaborate details of environmental impacts and to promote workable, sustainable solutions to the causative environmental issues. I am currently working for Water & Air Research, Inc. in Gainesville Florida. Water & Air was founded by University of Florida professors and staff in 1970 and has a long tradition of research on aquatic organisms to address a variety of issues for clients. My roles for the company include Project Scientist/Project Manager, Aquatic Group Client Service (marketing) Manager, and Biological Services Department Director. I have worked with Water & Air since January 2003.
