Doug Whipple, is a senior consultant and facilitator with the Arbinger institute. His passion and purpose is to help individuals, teams and organizations to see unlocked potential in themselves and others, and to inspire the vision and drive to accomplish breakthrough results. He brings to his engagements more than 35 years of broad experience spanning from military service in the United States Air Force, to executive leadership, organization and culture change, consulting, and small business ownership. Doug has extensive experience leading and facilitating transformation of organizations to become measurably more effective, capable and competitive. His discovery and utilization of Outward Mindset principles taught by Arbinger was transformative in his leadership effectiveness coaching success.Prior to Doug’s current work with Arbinger, he gained 32 years of multi-faceted experience in many roles in a global Fortune 100 chemical manufacturing corporation. He held key leadership responsibilities for the largest integrated chemical manufacturing site in the western hemisphere employing more than 10,000 employees and producing more than 32 billion pounds of product annually. In his executive roles, Doug gained a wide range of leadership, coaching, and organizational transformation experience in roles responsible for organizational excellence and culture change, change management, manufacturing operations and technology improvement, new business development, best practices implementation, government and regulatory affairs, and mergers and acquisitions. Doug was appointed to the Texas Energy Coordination Council by then-governor George Bush, and also served as chairman of the ELCON (Electrical Consumers Reliability Council) in Washington D.C. , and as Technical Chairman of the Texas Industrial Electrical Council (TIEC). Doug brings to his engagements a broad spectrum of experience aside from his experience in the corporate world. He gained his passion as an aviator while serving in the United States Air Force, has led and directed the work of a number of non-profit organizations, and has worked with many youth-focused groups as a mentor, outdoor guide and leader.Doug believes that there is no effort more effective in an organization or in a family, than that of embedding the capacity for greatness in the individuals, enabling them to see and encourage the same in others.
