Doug Batezel is an accomplished technology and business marketing and process leader, known for his ability to create and execute IT strategies and achieve business goals. Doug brings together a unique blend of business skills, team building, and the ability to leverage today’s technology to solve sales enablement and operational challenges. Doug is currently Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer at the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). He is responsible for the delivery of technology strategy and the execution of information technology and cyber security across all Board systems. Doug was the Managing Director of Beneration, LLC, a benefits administration technology and carrier billing third party administrator prior to joining the Board of Pensions. As Managing Director, he was responsible for providing fiscal, strategic and operational leadership to increase retention, create scalability, and improve operating results. During his successful 20 year tenure at Independence Blue Cross (IBC), Doug progressively delivered tremendous ROI results by aligning technology initiatives with business goals. Doug’s responsibilities continued to expand, ultimately leading a shared services division that managed incentive compensation, customer portals, healthcare.gov/EDI transactions, customer set up, reporting and analytics, and overall front office technology services that supported the enterprise. Doug holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania, with a concentration in Technology Management, and an undergraduate degree in Communications from Temple University, with a concentration in Digital Communications. He has participated in the Executive Leadership & Strategy program through The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as the Business Engagement for the Information Security Professional program at the TUCK School of Business at Dartmouth.
