Doug has spent his entire career in the title insurance industry, beginning in 1970, when he started working for Chicago Title in Los Angeles. In 1973 he joined HW Systems, Inc., one of the first data processing companies to build and install online title plants in the United States.In 1980, he left HW Systems, and headed up the Title Records, Inc., facility, based in Sun Valley, California. From 1980 to 1988, Doug was President of Title Records, overseeing the daily operations of the largest title plant in the United States. In 1988, he left Title Records, and founded D. Bello Associates, Inc. with the intention of offering title plant consulting to the industry. In 1989, he was selected by a Federal Judge to serve on a committee to study and make recommendations to the state of Hawaii to revamp their recording system. In early 1991 and again in 1993, Doug traveled to Russia consulting with the new Russian Land Privatization Committee to discuss land reform and private ownership as a part of the new Perestroika. In 1991, D. Bello Associates joined forces with HDEP International and PFA, Inc. to offer offshore keying of daily title plants and scanning of daily recordings. D. Bello Associates, Inc. and HDEP International were the first to key a daily plant outside of the United States. They are currently keying over 75 counties on a daily basis, constructing title backplants and performing Owner & Encumbrance, Commitment and Policy searching and production for title companies throughout the United States.Doug has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an Master of Business Administration degree from Pepperdine University, Los Angeles. Doug devotes 3 hours a week each Wednesday as a volunteer driver for a local Meals-on-Wheels program delivering hot lunches to home-bound seniors.Specialties: Title consulting regarding title plants and outsourced title production.
