Batch Operations Analyst for IBM on RBS W&G migration projectResponsibilities include:• Building CA7 schedules via BTI• Testing and running CA7 schedules• Resolving batch failures and assigning to 2nd level support• Problem and Incident Management• Defect management using HP Quality Centre. Problem and incident management.• Liaising with infrastructure teams to provide modifications, updates and fixes. RACF/CICS/DB2 etc.• Liaising with application teams to investigate and solve schedule stoppers and job failures using IBM Utilities and the standard investigation tools - CA-View, ISPF, IDCAMS,IEBCOPY etc.• Create and test file transfers using Connect Direct.

Responsibilities Include:• Data placement on disk, backup and recovery, based on customer requirements and array performance using DFSMS ACS rules or classes and HSM.• Capacity planning and disk provisioning within disk arrays using the vendor’s tools where available.• Virtual and physical tape management using CA1 and MVS catalogs to report by exception.• Adhoc reporting and analysis of tape or disk storage groups for applications using tools including Insync, Fileaid, CA-RSVP.• Data migration either within or between disk arrays using TDMF and SMS direction. • Tape migration from physical to virtual and physical to physical with different media types.• System volume backups using mirroring technology within disk arrays where available.• Disaster recovery design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation for disk & tape including switched fabrics and zoning where required.• Incident, problem and change management to a very high level.• Problem determination and root cause analysis using tools including OPSMVS and QuickRef.• Vendor management and relations.• General mainframe function using TSO, ISPF, SDSF, JCL and Rexx.• Various mainframe software including CA7, XCOM, Netmaster, Connect Direct, Omegamon, VTAM and TCPIP.• IBM utilities including IDCAMS, IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, IKJEFT01, SORT, REPRO.

Responsibilities include:• 24x7x365 Mainframe Batch and Online database monitoring ensuring daily SLAs are met.• Job fixing based on documented prior fix or call 2nd Level support. Job restart within CA7.• Problem and incident management with escalation depending on severity of the problem. • Dataset space issues resolved using Problem Resolution Volumes.• 1st Level support for Depot staff monitoring CICS transactions and End of Day processes.• Managing all IPL of Lpars and Sysplex Outages.• Tape management duties removing the volume dumps taken overnight and sending offsite for storage.
