Doug Hunter began his career in 1971 with Carter Elevator Company, becoming Its CEO in 1987. He was active in Christian Businessmen’s Committee (CBMC - now Christian Businessmen's Connection) served as a Teaching Leader for Bible Study Fellowship, and on the board of directors for several organizations, a major protestant denomination, a seminary and a regional bank holding company. As a Christian CEO, Doug became involved with FCCI in 1987, joining its board of directors in 1992. In 1994, Doug moved to Atlanta to work full-time with FCCI. In the years that followed, God developed his heart for international ministry by allowing him to influence business executives by speaking or teaching in over 30 countries. In 2003, Doug joined the staff of Perimeter Church in Atlanta to develop Business Partners International (BPI) as support for the church’s international partners as they minister to and through those in the marketplace. BPI helped start well over 100 companies around the world, each with a Kingdom purpose built into their business plan. He accepted FCCI’s call to become President & CEO in 2007, and has been blessed to sit on the front row as God has used FCCI in transforming His world … one business leader at a time. In January 2012 Doug engaged with the Global Cities Project Team of Cru/Campus Crusade for Christ. He serves with the Lausanne Workplace Network, the Global Think Tank on Business As Mission, the Workplace & Leadership Network, Call2Business Leadership Team, the National Faith & Work Association and on the Board of Partners International.From 2013 to 2016 Doug led the development of the Whitfield Center for Christian Leadership at Charleston Southern University, developing a model for equipping emerging leaders of tomorrow while resourcing leaders at all levels with a biblical worldview. He returned from 2020 to 2022 to direct the Marketplace Ministries Institute.In 2019 he also joined the national staff of Pinnacle Forum as Director of Partner Connections, facilitating opportunities for Partners across the country to connect and explore possibilities to expand their impact on culture.Doug's joy comes from using his broad scope of experience and global network to equip and connect people, organizations, visions, resources ... anything that will build the Body of Christ and advance the Kingdom of God.Doug and Janet have been married since 1970, and have 4 grown children and 4 grandchildren.
