Team member for Pre-Adjudicated Threat Recognition Intelligence Operations Team (PATRIOT) initiative is the automated screening of visa application information against DHS holdings prior to interview. Internally for ATS_P the PATRIOT enterprise project was known as Visa Pre-Adjudication (VPA). The following enterprise level technologies were employed for the VPA project, Oracle AQ, IBM MQ, XML with XSD, JAX-B, JPA 3.0, EJB 3.0, MDB 3.0, Clustered Weblogic 12c and Oracle 11g database. ATS_P was responsible for using MDB’s to listen to various AQ and MQ to retrieve queued messages for processing. Business login was contained in EJB which would formulate requests to various enterprise wide information services for information about particular applicants. Error handling was robust so that if any unexpected results occurred, they initial message that led to the unexpected results would be placed on an error queue and then automatically processed later. XML messages where retrieved from DoS AQ and converted to JAVA objects using JAX-B. These JAVA objects where then persisted to the Oracle database using JPA 3.0 technology updating or inserting new records according as dictated by business logic. Once persisted to the database, an xml message indicating that the data was ready to be processed would then be put on an IBM MQ. An MDB that was listening to the queue would then pick up the message and begin the screening process for the given applicant. Upon completion of screening, the results of the screening would be sent to DOS and ICE via queues for their consideration. Primary development tool was Eclipse with Oracle WebLogic Server Tools and Oracle SQL developer and development was done in a windows environment. DEV, SAT and PRODUCITON environments where UNIX (LINIX) based Weblogic 12c clusters.
