• Offshore MasterFull vessel responsibility where duties include:
• Working on the bridge with the 2nd Officer:o Checking Cargo, Manifest, Dangerous Goods Declarations are all in order and present.
• Ensuring all checks are complete prior to handover including Bridge handover, DP Handover, environmental situation awareness and relay specific charterer and installation requirements and requests
• Fully responsible for DP, Deck Crew, and communications between vessel and rig
• Ensure engine room is running smoothly, all PMs complete and orders are placed for any parts required for repairs
• Prepare all documentation and reports on equipment, incidents, and certification

• Approached to returned to Orkney Ferries during the Oil and Gas downturn. Duties included:
• Daily management and operations of nine vessels and crew
• Responsible for monitoring, updating and implementation of the companies SMS
• Ensuring company vessels compliance with class and flag state requirements and legislation
• Liaising with the Council/Ferry/transportation committee advising on additional sailings, weather disruptions, ferry and terminals infrastructureo Special requests from organisations in utilising the ferries
• Review weather reports, implementing changes to routes or timetable as required

• Master – responsibility for the full vessel budget including sourcing of all products and equipment (e.g. food supplies, consumables, and fuel)
