Douglas Ws. Bierer, Ph.D. is President of Douglas Bierer Consulting, LLC. He is a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry on regulatory affairs and product development issues for nonprescription drug, cosmetic products, dietary supplements and homeopathic drug products. Dr. Bierer acts as an advisor to client companies in strategic planning for prescription to over-the-counter switches, FDA advisory committee presentations, and over-the-counter monograph drugs, cosmetics, dietary supplement, and homeopathic drug issues. He has more than 25 years of experience in the drug industry in the areas of toxicology, regulatory affairs, and clinical development and has been actively involved in numerous industry committees, seminars, and conferences. He has held senior management positions at the Consumer Healthcare Products Association and at the Procter & Gamble Company. He received his Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Minnesota and his M.S. degree in human physiology/biochemistry from Michigan State University.
