CurrentMotor Vehicle Crashes (MVC's) are the leading cause of death for Americans, 16-25yrs; more so than the next four leading causes combined. Despite traditional driver education programs across the United States, 6,000-7,000 young drivers die in motor vehicle crashes every year and even more are seriously injured. It is obvious current programs are not giving young drivers the experience or information they need to become safe drivers. In response to this need, the StreetSafe Driving Program was created by Doug Darrell, a retired police officer and is taught by "First Responders", Judges, Insurance Executives and Victim Survivors. StreetSafe is a hands-on program offered to young drivers & parents through S Solutions, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. StreetSafe strives to save lives and with the assistance of NC Governors Highway Safety Program, State Farm Insurance, and IIANC, StreetSafe has developed 5 Regional Instructor groups throughout NC helping to reach as many young driver families as possible in North Carolina and Tennessee. Young drivers experience their limitations in a car, while their parents are introduced to our StreetSafe Family Driving Agreement and learn the executive skills they need to better manage their young drivers.
