In addition to investments and finance, I have extensive experience in all aspect of distressed real estate flips and rentals, as well as general business turn-arounds. In my career, I have used my experience and industry knowledge to help governments and private portfolios perform better in these areas. The side effects are higher recoveries/returns and less blight.Real Estate Through REO America, my real estate asset management firm, we managed and liquidated tens of thousands of foreclosures and REO properties, including several hundred renovations. The portfolios we managed have ranged across 25 states and the District of Columbia. There aren't too many property situations that we haven't run into during the past 23 years: every crazy title story, property condition surprise, even a dead body in one home (no foul play). We've manage the renovation of several hundred residences, as well as apartment complexes, retail strip centers, and office suites. I recently purchased a real estate brokerage that provides 5-star rated services for lower commissions. We bring true value to buyers and sellers by rebating 20% of our commissions back to them, saving them thousands on their purchase or sale. We share with our clients the cost savings obtained through technology.
