Coated Abrasives DivisionResearch and Development Group During my tenure with the R&D Group, I worked my way up through Level-I to Level-III, and then to Sr. Research Technician. Within the R&D Group in the Coated Abrasives Division, I conducted comprehensive experiments and testing on various abrasive products. Areas of concentration include: Research &Development, Operations Management, Inventory Management, and Team Collaboration/Leadership.Key Highlights:♦ Managed pilot coater operations and inventories of raw materials for “New Ventures” group — in pursuit of the development of polyester film backed abrasive products.♦ Operated experimental maker in clean room environment and additional support equipment — including electronic grain distribution analyzer, reel-to-reel computer read/write head polishing tester, micro photography, surface-finish analysis, high-shear mixers, high-shear milling plant, among others♦ Conducted various experiments associated with upgrading conventional abrasive products with new backings, resins, coating technologies, etc.♦ Conducted extensive internal grinding tests — on experimental products verses control products. In addition, I operated research equipment for testing hardness and cure rates of conventional and UV curable resins.
