-Operate and manage ECMO circuits and components during ECMO procedures.-Assumes responsibility for infusion of all solutions into the ECMO circuit-Monitors functional integrity of all ECMO circuit components-Troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces ECMO circuit components under emergent conditions and with assist under normal conditions-Continually assesses vital signs, hemodynamics, ABG’s, SVO2 and other factors related to systemic oxygen supply demand and adjusts support accordingly.-Continually evaluates ECMO circuit function to optimize oxygen delivery, CO2 removal, and obtain optimal hemodynamic stability-Operates point of care laboratory equipment to determine activated clotting time, spun hematocrit, and blood glucose levels-Assess spun hamatocrit, platelet count, and fibrinogen levels.
