As you will see from the resumé my employment history has been largely associated with Web sites, databases and software. Early on I was exposed, out of necessity, to Adobe products. I rather enjoyed working with images and graphics, especially using vector based tools. As my confidence and skill in using these tools grew I encountered more opportunities and eventually started jumping at any chance to work with graphics or animation.I have enjoyed the process of creating software—from requirements to design, programming and implementation. However I now find it less satisfying than completing a task that expresses an idea or conveys meaning. My skill set and creativity in the graphics realm are at least equivalent to those of a recent art school graduate; my maturity and experience are almost certainly greater. I am seeking an opportunity to apply myself at that level. As this change in career direction was not long ago foreseen, I have gathered a modest collection of my still available work for the portfolio. Some of it is good, some less so. I hope you find it satisfactory and will consider me a candidate for the position you seek to fill.Sincerely,Douglas PiercePORTFOLIO: http://www.danceads.com/doug/
