Mr. Thomas joined Fortress as a Managing Director in 2005. He currently is the CIO of the Fortress Partners Funds, and has pioneered the firm’s expansion into emerging markets. Between 2007 and 2013, he ran the European operations of the Fortress Credit Funds. During this period, he led a significant successful expansion of the geographic and operational investment efforts in Europe. From 2005 and 2007, he was based at Fortress in New York where he was focused on opportunistic illiquid portfolio financings and asset acquisitions. Prior to joining Fortress, Mr. Thomas was a Senior Vice President at the TCW Group where he managed a series of private equity joint-ventures focused on Asia, South Asia, and North America. During his tenure at TCW, Doug was directly responsible for an international private equity portfolio with invested capital of approximately $1.2 billion. Mr. Thomas holds a B.A. in International Relations with honors from Tufts University, and a Masters of International Affairs with a concentration in International Finance and Business from Columbia University.
