Detailed work includes market sizing and demand forecasting, identifying and tracking key IT consulting and services competitors in my key markets, writing about end-user experience of technology-related services, presenting regularly to clients, and writing real-time research and advisory notes on significant market events. I co-run a dedicated global research stream on Enterprise SaaS ecosystems, which is one of a small number of global research program run from Europe. In research, my role also includes driving thought-leadership programs and working with the global research teams.I have also been heavily involved in consulting projects for clients, including leading the research side of a major study for the European Commission, looking at barriers to cloud portability and advising the Commission on future strategies to promote cloud portability in the EU. Mostly of my clients were senior stakeholders within the Accenture Technology business, although I carried out projects for other stakeholders and for the UK&I country management, and I led a pro-bono consulting project for an external client (a UK charity), helping them to assess and develop the strategy and operating model for one of their key programs. Competitor intelligence was an important part of my role, and project work included detailed market and competitor analysis, conducting competitor M&A scans for senior leadership, and working as part of an M&A team on a successful IT services acquisition (Tquila). I was launch manager of a subscription service that looked at the opportunities for services vendors generated by the transition to the "3rd Platform" (cloud, mobile, Big Data/analytics, social etc). • Research & Thought Leadership: Had a nominal specialism in project services but effectively had a broad role in research terms and drove research thought leadership in West Europe around several themes associated with the 3rd Platform, including "Customer Experience IT" (of which I was practice co-leader), now renamed Digital. Previously, I researched the BPO market from 2007-2010 for IDC, transforming and hugely increasing coverage (I won all IDC EMEA awards for productivity during 2008-2013) and initiating new research elements for BPO such as Links and Leadership Grids.
