I am a mission-driven person who thrives on finding solutions that work for his colleagues. In my early days within the database management realm, I worked as a content and database manager for a small start-up (OneReport, Inc. – now NASDAQ OneReport). In that role I was able to support (and help encourage) large corporations to report their upstream and downstream ESG metrics for listings on sustainability indices such as FTSE4Good. It was at OneReport where I realized my passion and skill for problem solving. I took what I learned from Salesforce CRM and started my journey to database management for the Organic Trade Association (OTA) and The Organic Center. OTA’s mission is one close to my heart and one I try to emulate in my family life – “to grow and protect ORGANIC.” In my current role at OTA and The Organic Center I support the legislative, regulatory, science, membership, and events departments with Salesforce CRM. My work supporting these departments in turn helps them fulfill the organization’s mission for the benefit of our organic members and, in turn, the good of the world. When I started at the organization, weekly and monthly reports and reviews were being output into Word or Excel documents (event registrations, donations, membership data, etc.). I am proud to have taken the organization to the next level with varying Reports, Dashboards, Flows, Alerts, App Integrations, and Invoice processes. The most exciting days in my role are ones where a colleague comes to me – struggling with a problem – and I get to dream up a solution that meets their needs.
