As a Trainee in the machining area, I have been leading a project to implant the SMED methodology in the machining area to reduce setup time and improve machine availability. Parallel to the project, I have been working as a product engineer, with MAN and MWM customers. The routine involves answering for quality, new product development, guiding investigations, cost reduction, and further engineering activities.

As a Manufacturing Intern Engineer I was part of a multicultural team of engineers, suppliers, managers and others. The position required great communication skills to improve performance and reduce costs, while developing projects that aimed reduction of setup time and increase machine performance. The position required a great knowledge of english for communication and for drawing interpretation. Beyond that, softwares like Solidworks, Catia, Cimco, Mastercam and MS Office package were widely used on a daily basis, to provide support for machining operations and processes. At the end of my internship I had the opportunity to work with RFQ's, developing metrics and improving quality and assertivity of our quotes. With that said, during this one and a half year experience, I was able to live a different culture and learn how to adapt and improve personal and professional skills while doing that.

During this year I was responsible for coordinate eight very skilled team leaders for the upcoming national and regional competitions. Strategic planning, technical projects, personal andadministrative areas were always been discussed during that year. With an amazing team of people, we were able to manage more than 20 students in several areas, giving opportunities and developing technology to reach our goals. This role included - Holding weekly meetings to discuss results and reschedule activities. - Tutoring new members-Intermediating international purchases-Taking strategic decisions in competitions- To be a university's representative during competitions and institutions.

As a team leader, I was responsible to manage powertrain related projects and coordinate a very dedicated team of students to achieve the global aims for the prototype. Quality tools such as FMEA and 5 why's were used to improving vehicle reliability with great results during competition tests. Laboratory tests such as hardness, surface roughness, tensile and its respective reports were performed frequently for design requirements. Also, the position required regional and national presentations into Baja SAE competitions.

As a new member, I was constantly involved with the manufacturing of prototype components, both metal, and composite, studying powertrain and braking related topics and supporting in data acquisition and evaluation through testing.
