Doug collaborates on mergers and acquisitions, as well as acquisition, development, expansion, and operation of manufacturing capability. Doug plays a key role supporting corporate sustainability initiatives, including incorporation of solar energy and electric vehicle charging to Starbucks real estate portfolio.Doug manages, directs, develops and coaches internal and external legal teams, as well as cross-functional internal financial administration, portfolio and asset management, utility, energy, and related support function teams. Doug joined Starbucks with seventeen years of experience in both private practice and as in-house counsel. Doug earned a B.S. Business Administration (Finance), a J.D. from the University of Southern California and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1989.Outside of Starbucks, Doug is a founder, director, and officer of Wells for Life®, a nonprofit addressing the need for clean drinking water in India with a holistic perspective.
