I served as project manager for everything from large site enhancements to small change requests for a health-centered social network for patients and caregivers with over 800,000 members. Development projects included deploying new non-profit partner discussion forums, integrating 3rd-party email, login, and ad delivery systems, and user generated content pulls for research analysis. Internal projects included improvements to DevOps moving towards continuous testing and continuous delivery, migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS), and building self-service tools to automate previously manual processes. I utilized elements of Agile and Kanban for managing projects. My knowledge of the code base, integrations, and business drivers allowed me to prevent fires, remove roadblocks, and avoid pitfalls before they impacted project delivery. My most important achievement while at Inspire was helping to reestablish trust and communication between the business units and the technical team.

Managed various infrastructure and product related projects, including the upgrade of the .NET-based CMS/WCM (Ektron), and various 3rd-party partner integrations with the Association Management System (iMIS). Content migration, SEO, and information architecture were important aspects of this upgrade. I worked closely with a cross-functional team of internal staff and external vendors on all stages of projects.
Purchased the contents of self-storage units at auction and resold goods through various online and offline channels. Researched, documented, and as needed, authenticated items, including antiques, collectibles, and militaria. Identified optimum sales channels to maximize profits. Developed ads including detailed descriptions and quality photos. Balanced schedule to attend sales, process purchases, and meet with buyers. Used excellent interpersonal skills to answer buyer questions, coordinate meetings, and perform negotiations. Built positive working relationships with auctioneers, storage facility managers, and a network of niche buyers.
I served as a lead on the HR BPM Process Analysis team leading business owners and subject matter experts in the mapping and unification of process workflows and systems across all of HR. I was responsible for the evaluation process and successful procurement and implementation of Metastorm BPM (now OpenText) for use throughout CBP. I participated in the development of innovative new web application workflows, including Retirement Tracking and Federal Hiring. I served as the sole analyst and project manager for implementing a distributed workflow applicant tracking system for federal hiring. System and screen design requirements were solicited in Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions held both face-to-face and using video chat tools. Daily scrum calls further facilitated communication between developers and the subject matter experts. I worked with users to validate interaction requirements, user experience, process flows, and data validation rules. I also provided direction for developers, managed testing efforts, and provided on-site training and implementation support.
I served as an expert consultant with the IBM User Experience (UX) team to provide information architecture and usability design for the DHS/FEMA Flood Map Modernization BPM web portal. This system, which was part of a $750 million contract, uses BPM to manage and report on flood map modernization projects nationwide. Additionally, it serves as central data federation point for local and national digital flooding data. Working in an IBM Workflow for Websphere BPM environment, I developed detailed process flows for complex online workflows based on use cases, customer input, and existing paper-based forms. I identified design priorities from customer business needs. These included real-time status information and the capture of earned value performance indicators. I designed and delivered wireframes, navigation flows/structures, and other UX documentation. I gathered feedback on deliverables through working meetings with the customer and internal peer reviews. I oversaw development of content structures and overall site consistency. Efforts included developing documentation and processes that the IBM unit used to become CMMI Level 3 certified. Duties also included coordinating with the project PMO, the mentoring of newer staff, and review of their work products.
