These systems include CRM, core delivery and billing platforms and multiple accounting systems. The billing product owner role requires working with many different teams, account management, engineering, audit and finance/accounting, and with varying levels of authority within the organization, VPs and Directors to staff accountants and technical leads. As a global company, I have frequent contact with associates in the US and the UK and must understand their unique geographic and regulatory requirements. Activities I perform on a daily basis:• Engage with stakeholders to identify any new requirements and provide updates on any in progress or planned features. • Participate and/or lead in Scrum ceremonies (daily standup, sprint planning, demo, refinement sessions, and prioritization sessions) • Assist with testing • Story writing (adding detail to as we get closer to accepting new features) • Backlog grooming • Process Improvement within the team and the organization Accomplishments:• Developed several billing applications that address the uniqueness of the business unit or the organization at that time. These are mostly greenfield projects that started from no technical implementation. • Gained a working knowledge of accounting and business processes even without any formal training within the professional area. • Became the administrative lead of the issue tracking software (Jira) when the administrator abruptly resigned. Was able to take point and provide service to the organization that met or exceeded the previous service level.
