About Doug Rock
New Jersey native, Douglas Rock was awarded his MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University in 2020 and completed his undergraduate studies at Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland in 2014. He completed his master’s degree in the fields of Finance; Leadership and Change Management; Strategy. During his undergraduate he completed a double major in Supply Chain Management and Information Systems. After college, Douglas joined the highly competitive Integrated Supply Chain Development Program at Honeywell International. He spent his first eighteen months focusing on reducing excess inventory, tracking transportation costs, and sharing best practice techniques, throughout the Performance Materials and Technologies business unit. During his tenure as the Supply Chain Process Excellence Analyst, he optimized and automated different processes which incurred over $2 Million in savings annually. Due to his hard-working nature, Douglas graduated from the ISCDP early, and led the Sales Inventory and Operations Planning Team within the Chemical Intermediates Business. He oversaw the creation, and successful roll-out, of the SIOP Plan for two manufacturing sites, six terminals and all modes of bulk transportation. During his tenure, Douglas assisted the Spin-off of the Resins and Chemicals Business Division from Honeywell International, forming the first vertically integrated chemical company on the NYSE, AdvanSix inc. At AdvanSix, Douglas further streamlined the SIOP process rolling out eighteen month forward looking planning, AOP and STRAP.Douglas then went on to join the first of its kind indoor agriculture startup Bowery Farming. At Bowery Farming, Douglas used his extensive S&OP knowledge to implement a planning process to match supply and demand. Through these new planning processes Bowery was able to successfully grow from twelve stores to over five hundred with limited hiccups. Now Douglas is implementing a corporate wide S&OP program at Covanta which had savings over $2 Million in the first year. Douglas has received two promotions within two years, becoming the Director of S&OP, and receiving permission to expand the program globally to 24 facilities across seven new employees. Douglas has also been instrumental in supporting one of the Full Potential Plan workstreams, and concurrently leads the Municipal Services Administrative functions, to maximize revenue through the use of data. During his free time Douglas enjoys traveling, eating new foods, and driving.
