I am a passionate cyber security specialist seeking a position as a SOC Analyst. Since receiving my CompTIA Security+ certification, I have been engaging in Offensive security exercises - reproducing OWASP Top 10 attacks using a physical C2 'attack box'. On alternating days, I practice Defensive security; monitoring network logs & events with Splunk, Zeek and Wireshark; managing SIEM, SOAR, & EDR solutions with Google Chronicle/ MS Sentinel and reviewing NIDS/NIPS with Snort. I am motivated and driven to continue to broaden my scope of understanding and contribute to the defensive success of an Enterprise or security firm.I started my career in 1999 when I joined the US Air Force as a Telecom Field Technician. I was stationed at Buckley Air Force base in Aurora, CO and granted Secret clearance. Previously known as Space Command (now the Space Force Command center) I aided in expanding the communications infrastructure of the Air National Guard base to a full active-duty base. For the first half of my term, I worked in the 'field' installing Cat5e throughout newly constructed buildings from the RJ45 connector in the cubicle to the comm closet / VLAN patch panel. I also monitored and maintained the Avaya telecom network both remotely and on-prem at the PBX relay station/ Nortel Digital Switch. During my last 6 months at Buckley AFB, I created and maintained the help desk and job logging system for all base telecom job requisitions. I created, prioritized, and issued work orders to the team and was the on-call technician for any telephone/ internet issues. In 2003 I received an honorable discharge and decided to pursue my ambitions to be a professional actor. For nearly 20 years I had lived in NYC, LA, & North Carolina and worked in television, film, commercials, voice overs, Off-Broadway musicals and regional theater plays and musicals. I have also written and produced commercials and short films. "The Final Day", which I wrote, produced, starred in, scored, and sound engineered won a short film festival judged by the late legendary director George Romero. It was featured on the DVD of his film “Diary of the Dead.”During my time as an actor, I also worked as a FOH Restaurant Manager, Executive Assistant to the Dean of Barnard College, and worked as a private contractor/ low voltage technician installing Simplex systems A/V fire alarms and physically assigning binary device addresses. I would also install the appropriate resistors on fire alarm pump E-systems and ran systems checks through the addressable Fire Control Unit.
