From its inception, my vision was to empower freelancers by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and community needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive market. Today, I'm proud to say that Freelancer Club has grown into a trusted resource, having supported over 300,000 aspiring freelancers with business training, mentorship, and essential resources that are pivotal in helping them navigate the challenges of self-employment.One of our key achievements has been the #noFreeWork campaign, a movement to combat the widespread exploitation of freelancers through unpaid work. This campaign not only raised awareness of the issue but also led to significant changes in industry practices, encouraging fair compensation and respect for freelancers' time and expertise. Our efforts have reached the corridors of power, as we've worked alongside the government to advocate for policies that protect freelancers' rights and improve their working conditions. This work has been instrumental in shifting public perception and fostering a more supportive environment for self-employed professionals.Looking ahead, our commitment to empowering freelancers remains stronger than ever. Our latest initiative, the Rise, Freelancer programme, is a bold effort to provide 1 million individuals, particularly from marginalised communities, with access to business training and support by 2026. This programme is designed to equip the next generation of freelancers with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world. Through this initiative and beyond, Freelancer Club continues to shape the future of work, ensuring that freelancers have the platform and voice they deserve.
