I have had the wonderful opportunity to grow and develop within this organization, beginning as an assistant director (2009-15) and progressing to associate director (2016-2017), director (2018-21) and assistant athletic director (2021-present).I handle strategic PR planning for the UF men's basketball team, as well as leadership and management of several other positions within the communications department.I work closely with our coaches, student-athletes, administration and other external-facing departments office to tell the story of Florida athletics through digital and traditional platforms. Throughout the season, I serve as our men's basketball team's liaison for broadcast partners and national and local media, coordinating access and information related to team activities. I handle all press operations for the team on a day-to-day basis.

While interning with the Ravens, I assisted in open locker media sessions and coordinated selected out-of-town player interview requests. I also had the opportunity to contribute notes, research and layout to weekly game notes and wrote feature stories and game sidebars regularly for baltimoreravens.com.

Tampa, Florida

As a volunteer on the NFL's Super Bowl PR staff, I assisted with media sessions and quote transcripts throughout the week leading up to the Super Bowl. Following the game, I assisted with the postgame press session, getting players to their podium positions and taking quotes.

Grand Rapids, Michgan

I gained a lot of technical, web-management skills in this position as I assisted MLive in developing its high school sports coverage. As the liaison between the high school sports writers and the web developers, I collected data and feedback on real-world use of our site and worked with the developers on how to improve it. I also served as a contact point for citizen reporters who wanted to provide updates on their local school.

Englewood, Colorado

In this season-long internship, I had my first opportunity to travel to road games with the team. My fellow intern and I also handled early-morning press clips, turning in the daily packets by 7 a.m. each morning. During this internship, I provided research assistance to Jeff Legwold, then with the Rocky Mountain News, for his presentation to the Pro Football Hall of Fame committee on Gary Zimmerman's candidacy.

Berlin, Germany

In this position, I served as the Thunder's liaison with NFL Network, which broadcast all games, as well as U.S. media. I coordinated weekly teleconferences with our coach, players and NFL Network production and talent staff that functioned as our production meeting. For the on-site Berlin PR staff, I was their player liaison, arranging press and photo opportunities with our players. In addition, this position provided the opportunity to create several pieces of team content each week for NFLEurope.com. This was an invaluable learning experience for me in the early part of my career.

Berea, Ohio

As a season-long public relations intern fresh out of undergrad, this was my first experience with a major pro sports team. From managing interview requests to contributing research for the team's weekly release, I learned a lot about the work that goes into running an NFL team's public relations office.

I was a game-night intern with the Griffins during my senior year of undergrad. It was a great introduction to both the operational and strategic side of a team's public relations department, as well as the dedication and investment a professional in the sport industry must have in their work.
