Dan has been an attorney in private practice for over 25 years. His practice includes local government and administrative law, transactional work, and litigation, with a special focus on energy and environmental law. He has represented a wide range of individual, corporate and public-sector clients before state and federal administrative agencies, in business transactions and in civil litigation. Examples of his experience include:-- Counseling clients, from Fortune 500 corporations to individual homeowners, regarding regulatory compliance and permitting. -- Representing an investor-owned electric and gas utility in rate cases, construction dockets and other matters before the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. -- Representing defendants in enforcement actions brought by state and federal agencies. -- Supervising environmental due diligence, and providing advice to buyers and sellers on potential environmental liabilities associated with real estate transactions, corporate mergers and acquisitions. -- Representing both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation, including environmental cases and judicial review of administrative decisions. Dan has an extensive technical background, and prior to practicing law was involved in research on the fate, transport and degradation of environmental contaminants in soil and groundwater.
