About Daniel Posada

Daniel is an Aerospace and Mechanical Engineer in love with space, music, photography, and racing cars. He is currently doing his Ph.D. and researching different computer vision-based methods (OpenCV + Python/C++) for multiple space applications from navigation in the Moon to localization in the martian surface. Curious and Techie! 🤖He is currently working as a research assistant with Intuitive Machines (IM) to implement a computer vision algorithm in their lunar lander Nova-C to be launched in the first quarter of 2022 and the next missions to the Lunar south pole. This algorithm will help provide a safe landing site in case the GNC tries to land in a place where there are unknown hazards.Daniel is also a Lead Engineer of EagleCam, a 1.5U CubeSat the will land on the surface of the Moon and take images of the landing of the Nova-C IM lunar lander. Additionally, he is chief engineer of LLAMAS (Literally Looking At More Astronauts in Space) that will be flying inside a Dragon Capsule with the Polaris Dawn mission and will bring a new view of the first commercial EVA.Daniel is very passionate about using computer vision methods for image segmentation, template matching, classification, multiple view geometry, stereo-photogrammetry, and more. And even better if the challenge is any of these applications to space exploration.

Listed skills include Engineering, Microsoft Office, Autocad, Manufacturing, and 13 others.
